The Business was started in 2005 by James Fender Jr., in Lexington, Kentucky.
It is significant that James, built and operated the business on the highest level of standards and values which have carried on through out the years.
Terrance Smith joined the establishment as a Licensed Embalmer/Funeral Director in 2005.
Mary Devine Hale joined the establishment as a Licensed Funeral Director/Executive Assistant in 2017.
Peter "Pete" Williams joined the establishment as a Apprentice Assistant in 2020.

Today, the Fender Funeral Directors, along with a dedicated and experienced Staff, provide compassionate care and support to families when death occurs.
The business was started in 1855 by Samuel Richards in Wexford, Pennsylvania. The name was changed to SRS Funeral Home and the SRS Funeral Home was established in Pittsburgh. Mr. Samuel's son, Michael, joined the business in 1902 and together they ran the businesses in both Wexford and Pittsburgh.
It is significant that Samuel and Michael, built and operated the business on the highest level of standards and values which have carried on throughout the years.
Michael's son Johnathon joined the firm as a Licensed Embalmer/ Funeral Director in 1958 after graduating from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.
Jonathon's son Oliver became a Licensed Funeral Director and took over the funeral home operations in 1978. Oliver purchased the former Monarch Funeral Home in Pittsburgh in 1985.
